Quad Stretch

The quadricep stretch is a great way to loosen up those tight front leg muscles (quadriceps) and because it's a standing stretch, you can do it pretty much anywhere. Because the quadriceps are involved in keeping you upright and maintaining balance, it's important to keep them flexible.

The Details
1. Standing upright, grab left foot with left hand.
2. Pull foot and stretch to the point of tightness. Hold for 10 to 30 seconds.
3. Repeat with opposite side.
BEGINNERS NOTE
I recommend this stretch right before you get out on the mountain and 2-3 times during the course of the day. Like all stretches this one should be used pre-season to help first time riders.
